WaypointAds is developed as a single advertising extension, with Core Features available to all users and additional Commercial Features unlocked by a valid license. As development continues, updates improve and extend the same installation rather than maintaining two separate versions.

The Release Notes provide a chronological record of those changes. Each release identifies the version concerned and summarizes the features, improvements, and corrections relevant to Administrators and advertisers.

We don't intend the Release Notes to become a catalogue of obscure programming changes that only the developer understands. If something has changed that affects the way you use WaypointAds, this is where we will tell you about it.

New Features and Improvements

Not every WaypointAds update is about fixing something that went wrong.

New releases may introduce entirely new capabilities or expand the way existing features operate. These could involve Zones, Creatives, Campaign management, smart placement, reporting, the Advertiser Dashboard, Rate Card, Packages, Wallets, payments, approvals, advertiser communication, or other parts of the advertising process.

Some features will be available to all users, while others will require a Commercial license. The Release Notes will make that distinction clear when it is relevant.

Smaller improvements matter too. A screen may become easier to understand, an unnecessary step may disappear, or WaypointAds may begin handling automatically something that previously required the Administrator's attention.

Those changes will also appear in the Release Notes.

Corrections and Refinements

Software occasionally discovers creative ways to behave differently from the way its developer intended.

When a problem is identified and corrected, the Release Notes provide a record of the correction. This is particularly useful if you encountered the problem yourself and want to know whether a newer release addresses it.

Some corrections may involve unusual circumstances that most users will never encounter. Others may affect a familiar part of the system. Either way, documenting them provides a useful history of how WaypointAds has changed from one release to the next.

Before You Update

We recommend checking the Release Notes whenever a new version of WaypointAds becomes available.

Most updates should simply improve or extend the installation you already have, but occasionally a new feature may introduce an option worth configuring or change something you will want to know about before continuing.

Your existing Advertisers, Campaigns, Creatives, Zones, and Commercial configuration are important. WaypointAds updates are developed with preserving that work firmly in mind.

The Release Notes will highlight anything requiring particular attention, including changes to configuration, licensing, or features that may need Administrator action.

One Extension, Continuing Development

WaypointAds is one product with Core Features and additional Commercial Features unlocked by a valid Commercial license. Both operate within the same installation and are updated together.

A release may contain improvements available to everyone, additions specifically for Commercial users, or changes that benefit both. There is no need to install a separate Commercial version or follow a different update history.

The individual release entries will identify Commercial-specific changes where appropriate, allowing every user to understand what is new and which features are available to them.

An Ongoing Record

WaypointAds is still growing, and these Release Notes will grow with it.

They provide more than a list of version numbers. Over time, they will become a record of how the extension has developed—from its original advertising management tools to the increasingly complete platform that follows.

And, occasionally, they may also provide documentary evidence that something Valerie discovered with the Chrome Hammer really did need fixing.

Each new release will be added below, with the newest release presented first so Administrators can quickly see what has changed before updating.
